How the calculator works

Real dividend history uses FinLab's daily U.S. prices and the cash dividends on record for every dividend-paying stock and ETF with a FinLab stock page. The starting amount buys at the close before your first year, each monthly addition buys at a month-end close, and each dividend arrives on its ex-dividend date. Reinvested dividends buy shares at that day's close, the same way total-return prices are built. Earlier dividends are restated for later share splits. Data runs to Nov 5, 2026.

Enter a yield projects forward from the yield you type: the payout is split into four quarterly payments, and the share price and the dividend per share each grow at the steady rates you set. Real dividends are cut and raised unevenly, so treat the projection as a range to think with, not a forecast.
